Teacher GPS
Guided pathways to become a certified teacher in the United States.

About me
Hi, my name is María Margarita Vega, also known as Tuty Vega. I'm a Spanish teacher in Georgia, a content creator, and the founder of Teacher GPS.
I'm from Colombia, where I studied Finance and Business. I decided to become a teacher in the United States because I love teaching my language. I started at a private school and, while working, earned my certification through Georgia's alternative pathway, becoming certified in 2025. I've been teaching in Georgia for about six years; I've taught everything from kindergarten to high school, and today I teach middle school. I'm also working on my master's degree in Education and Instruction.
The hardest part of my journey, and the part nobody explained to me, was figuring out how to become a certified teacher in Georgia. I had to discover it on my own. The system is very hard to navigate, especially when English isn't your first language.
That's why I created Teacher GPS: to make life easier for people who want to become teachers in the United States and for those who already are, so they don't have to go through what I went through. You lose so much time searching for information that you get discouraged, and many people give up. Here you'll find a clear path, step by step.
I also love creating content and resources for teachers, and sharing what I've learned in the classroom, especially about classroom management.
I'm so glad you're here.
